I mainly knew Isobel through the School of Education-we would often stop to have a chat. She had a very special quality of radiance, warmth, kindness and humanity. She remembered people and asked after them. She had perspective on life's troubles and brought humour to situations. She was just the person the world needs just now given its troubled state. She will be greatly missed by Edgar, her family and all who knew her. Inge Bates
